There are several types of EV chargers, each with its own charging speed and compatibility. The three main types are:
- Level 1 Chargers: These are the slowest and usually come with the vehicle when you purchase it. They use a standard 120-volt outlet and can add a few miles of range per hour of charging.
- Level 2 Chargers: Level 2 Chargers are commonly found in public places and use a 240-volt connection. For example, the PDA-21kw product charges your electric vehicle faster, typically adding 10-20 miles of range per hour.
- DC Fast Chargers: These are the quickest option. For example, products like PDB can charge your vehicle up to 80% capacity in under 30 minutes. They’re not as common as Level 1 and 2 chargers, though.

Charging Process
Park your vehicle in position and plug the charging gun into the vehicle’s charging port.
Power on the charging station or start charging via the smartphone app.
Set charging mode according to your needs, such as scheduled or immediate charging.
Monitoring
Monitor charging progress, estimated time to full charge, and other details using the charging station display or smartphone app.
Safety Precautions
Avoid unplugging the charging gun during the charging process to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage.
Ensure the charging area is dry and free from water puddles to prevent short circuits.
Commercial Charging Stations
Locating and Reserving
Use charging station map apps or websites to find nearby commercial charging stations.
Some commercial stations may require advance reservations to ensure availability of charging spots.
Arrival and Preparation
Navigate to the location of the charging station as guided.
Prepare necessary items for charging such as charging cards, mobile payment methods, etc.
Connecting and Starting
Park your vehicle properly and insert the charging gun according to the station’s instructions.
Follow the station’s prompts to select charging mode (fast or slow) and payment method.
Waiting and Departure
During the charging process, you can rest nearby or attend to other matters.
After charging is complete, safely unplug the charging gun following correct procedures and return it to its place.
Payment Settlement
Different commercial charging stations may have varying billing methods, such as pay-per-kilowatt-hour or pay-per-time.
Ensure payment is completed before leaving to avoid unnecessary disputes.
